I am Christina, an illustrator and animator based in Groningen (Netherlands).
I've graduated in 2018 in Animation Design at ArtEZ Art Academy, NL
and finished my previous study Game Design, Alfa college, NL in 2013
In the past few years I have completed multiple illustrations for the childrens’ book ‘De Beste Kat van de Stad’ (The Best Cat in Town), NorthSea illustrations for World Wildlife Fund, and 7 corporate animations for JJC – a global executive coaching firm.
Animating and illustrating is a deeply rooted passion of mine. I've tried to write a piece of why this is below.
I love robots.
In order to design a real life-like robot you need to have a fundamental understanding of how humans work.
What fascinates me is that there is a massive group of people working on creating robots right now, unraveling the mysteries of our brains and what makes us who we are in the process. They are trying to create life.
Now, about brains: I like to believe that my brain needs a lot of space for creativity, so it took some space from the sections where the math and programming could have been. Which makes it unlikely that I will build that real life-like robot..
BUT I can draw one! I can build up lines and shapes, I can make them move.
Maybe I can even get you to believe that these lines and shapes have feelings. I can create characters with them, stories that appeal to you (and your audience) and that you believe.
Creating the illusion of life, with a pen. That’s what I strive to do.
